Program Overview
Supports the transformation and modernization of legacy Coast Guard systems and services including mobility, messaging, ITSM, ITAM, Network Infrastructure, and legacy data systems from on premise implementations to cloud and hybrid cloud solutions. New system and service implementations, including zero trust architecture, to provide leading edge systems that are both secure and accessible.
About The Role

Peraton is seeking a MECM (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager) System Administrator who will be responsible for the deployment, management, and maintenance of the MECM infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure the efficient operation of all MECM components, managing software distribution, patch management, operating system deployment, and overall endpoint compliance. The individual will work closely with IT teams, end-users, and other stakeholders to provide a secure, reliable, and user-friendly environment.

 

Day to Day Work Responsibilities will include:

  • Install, configure, and maintain MECM infrastructure, including servers, databases, and clients.
  • Plan, execute, and monitor software update deployments using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) to ensure all endpoints are properly patched and compliant with organizational security policies.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to schedule and implement maintenance windows for deploying updates and patches, minimizing impact on end-user productivity.
  • Customize software update groups and deployment packages within MECM to target specific collections of devices, ensuring appropriate testing and phased rollout strategies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to software update deployments, including failed installations, update conflicts, and compliance discrepancies.
  • Design and implement automated workflows for deploying third-party software updates using MECM, leveraging vendor catalogs or custom update packages.
  • Collaborate with application owners and IT teams to package and deploy software applications using MECM, adhering to best practices for application compatibility and user experience.
  • Monitor software deployment success rates, compliance levels, and deployment status using MECM reports and dashboards, proactively addressing any discrepancies or failures.
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize MECM software deployment processes and configurations to improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
  • Strong understanding of software distribution, patch management, and operating system deployment.
  • Versatile and flexible and capable of assisting other Tier 3 teams within the overall, larger Enterprise support team
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years’ experience or high school diploma/equivalent and 9 years’ experience
  • U.S. Citizenship required; Must have an active Secret Clearance
  • 3 years’ experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) or SCCM experience
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or similar language
  • Must have experience supporting and troubleshooting Windows Servers and Workstations
  • Must have experience in software installation
  • Must have CompTIA Security+ certification
  • Must have strong understanding of software distribution, patch management, and operating system deployment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ITILv4 Foundations certification 
  • InTune experience with configuration & restriction profiles desired
  • Detail-oriented and able to organize information
  • Strong customer service and oral/written communication skills required.
  • Ability to work independently and produce results, given general priorities, required
SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
