Responsibilities
Peraton has an opening for a Program Security Specialist in our Arlington/Reston, VA offices. The candidate must be self-driven and results-oriented team player capable of effective multi-tasking. As the Program Security Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting with compliance of all security programs and assisting Peraton employees and their clients with program security support. The position is primarily coded as on-site work, with site visits at team locations, as required.
The Program Security Specialist will be responsible for the following:
- Oversight and management of Personnel Security, Physical Security SCIF/SIPRNET lab, Communications Security (COMSEC), and Visitor Control primarily in Arlington/Reston VA locations.
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of the Security Program, collaborating in developing a security program that enables the business with the following actions:
- Verifies security clearance status for visitors and potential new employees, and subcontractors.
- Assists with the Personnel Security program and security clearance process for employees through DISS and NBIS and other customer databases.
- Assists with the Physical Security program and document control accountability.
- Oversee classification guidance to employees; the development and provision of security education and awareness training; conduct security briefings; lead security self-inspections and audits.
- Assists with providing security-related briefings and training required by NISPOM (32 CFR) and client.
- Assists with providing foreign pre/post travel briefings in accordance to government requirements.
- Assists with the preparation and reporting of derogatory information as directed by the customer.
- Uses SIMS to track all the security disciplines that are overseen at this facility.
- Tracks status of contracts and provide updates to the Security Administrator Supervisor.
- Conduct self-inspections and DCSA Vulnerability Assessments of programs.
- Interface with program managers and US Government Program Security Officers.
- Provide prime and/or subcontractor security support and direction including the development and maintenance of DD254's and security guidance.
- Ensure timely and relevant security volume development for various business unit proposals within the programs supported
Qualifications
Required Experience:
- BS/BA degree and 8+ years of security office administration and facility security experience. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Experience in using government security regulations, manuals, and processes, to include the NISPOM, NISPOM Supplement, DCSA security manuals, and OPSEC principles in a mid-to-large Federal Contractor.
- Current DCSA Facility Security Officer Certification from CDSE.
- Must possess a high level of understanding of government public trust processes, security related policies, procedures, and initiatives (32 CFR Part 117, ICD 704, ICD 705, Trusted Workforce 2.0, DODM 5205.07 Volume 1 - 4, and DoD Directive 5205.07 DoD Special Access Program Policy).
- Basic knowledge of intrusion detection systems and access control devices.
- Ability to apply the foregoing knowledge of government security requirements in a complex multi-level secure environment to ensure program compliance in non-routine situations.
- Active TS clearance with ability to obtain SCI
Preferred Experience:
- Prior security experience supporting SIPRNet/Restricted/SCIF physical security areas
- Self-driven and results oriented, capable of effectively prioritizing incoming tasks and manage workload
- Excellent verbal and written communications
- Proficient with DISS, NISS, NBIS and SIMS
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite
Target Salary Range
$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
